PRESENTATION

La mia passione per gli Shivasûtra incominciò nel 1973, quando acquistai i Testi dello Shivaismo di Raniero Gnoli, che ne contenevano la prima traduzione italiana. Successivamente studiai il sanscrito, per cui dal 1976 potei iniziare ad affrontarli senza mediazioni, e da allora mi ci affondai molte e molte volte – e ancora non ho finito. Del resto, tale è la natura di questo testo, che finire di penetrarlo vorrebbe dire o morire o raggiungere il fine sovrannaturale che vi viene proposto.

My passion for Shivasûtras began in 1973, when I bought the book Testi dello Sivaismo by Raniero Gnoli, which contained their first italian translation. Successively I studied Sanskrit, afterwards I could begin in 1976 to deal with them without mediations, and since I sank in them many and many times – and still I haven't finished. Besides, the nature of this text is such that finishing to understand it would signify either to die or to attain the supernatural scope that it proposes.

Qui darò il testo originale, la traduzione  e due commenti, con un'introduzione ed un lessico. Per l'impossibilità di riprodurre altrimenti in modo a tutti leggibile le font ed i vari segni diacritici di cui questo lavoro assolutamente necessita, sono stato obbligato ad utilizzare il formato pdf, leggibile con Acrobat Reader, programma che peraltro è di libero utilizzo.

Here I will give the original text, the translation and two Commentaries, with an Introduction and a Lexicon. Because of the impossibility of reproducing otherwise the diacritical signs, I have adopted the pdf format, readable with Acrobat Reader, that is freeware.

Quest'opera non rispetta gli standard di nessuno: né degli orientalisti, né dei filologi, né dei fedeli tradizionali, né degli esoteristi comuni; è un'opera di ricerca interiore, finalizzata all'endogenesi che vi è descritta. Anche qualora tale fine non venga raggiunto, non sarà stato ignobile proporselo. 

This work doesn't respect the standards of anyone: neither of orientalists nor of philologists, neither of traditional believers nor of common esoterists. It is a work of inner research, oriented to the endogenesis herein described. And when also this scope would not be attained, it will be a noble thing to have intended it.
